On quality: an inquiry into excellence.

A collection of notes, letters, talks, and essays related to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and Lila: An Inquiry into Morals. Without the background in these books a reader would likely lose interest quickly. I tend to read both books every twelve to fifteen years. Each book provides a way of recognizing quality by way of example. In college Zen tipped me off to a way to look for the right path when so many options were available.

Lila refined the method and helped me approach becoming a parent. Now when I read them together the meaning unfolds a bit differently. It has been about eleven years so I guess both books will find their way into my stack again within the next year.
